LEE JAMES PROFILE
Lee
is a CPA, CMC and CBI
in private practice providing consulting and training services that are
"Dedicated to Improving Your Bottom Line and Maximizing Company
Value." Lee specializes in meeting the needs of owners of privately owned
businesses and is a financial and business expert. Through his consulting and training services, Lee is continually
working with hundreds of professionals. He is constantly experiencing the
challenges of fulfilling project technical aspects as well as balancing
schedule and budget issues. Business management,
operational processes, financial systems, strategic planning, benchmarking and ownership
transfer assignments are continually in process. Lee also works with an
investment-banking firm that specializes in mergers and acquisitions. He
has successfully negotiated the purchase and sale of several businesses.
His previous twenty-one years
of professional experience includes eleven years with an international
engineering and consulting firm providing business and financial services on a
day-to-day basis throughout the U.S. Prior to that, Lee worked
as the Chief Financial Officer for Digital Cartographic Systems, Inc. and as
Senior Manager for Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young).
Lee is active in professional societies and has
been throughout his career. He is a member of state and national
professional societies, including: the American Institute of CPAs and the
Colorado Society of CPAs, the Institute of Management Consultants, the
International Business Brokers Association, and the ASFE (professional Firms
Practicing in the Geosciences). He is the past
Chairman of the Business and Professional Practices Committee for the ASFE,
former Treasurer of the Institute for Professional Practice and serves on the
Board of Directors of various engineering-consulting firms. Lee is often a
speaker on management issues at local and national conferences and
authors articles for professional journals.
Lee has his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the University of
Northern Iowa and significant annual continuing education; including Harvard
Business School’s "Delivering Information Services". Lee has also
held several security clearances throughout his professional career.
